Aliah + Thomas | Cloudland Canyon Family Adventure Elopement | Georgia Wedding Photographer

I’ve photographed Family, Couple, and Maternity Sessions at Cloudland Canyon State Park—but this was my first time shooting a Cloudland Canyon family adventure elopement! It couldn’t have been a cooler experience thanks to the wonderful couple at the center of it all, Aliah and Thomas. They needed an adventurous wedding photographer to document their intimate North Georgia nuptials, and I’m so glad they trusted me to do the honors.

I joined Aliah, Thomas, and their special guests on the roughly half-mile hike down to Hemlock Falls, where they tied the knot. It was adorable seeing Aliah all dolled up in her bridal gown and hiking boots. Of course, Thomas was a total gentleman, making sure she didn’t slip or stumble on the way down. The kindness and respect they have for each other speaks volumes to their caring relationship. Capturing Aliah and Thomas eloping in front of a roaring 90-foot waterfall with their children and sweet niece was a truly once-in-a-lifetime moment!

After the excitement of snapping family and newlywed photos, it was time to tackle the 600-step staircase back up to the trailhead. We definitely got a solid lower body workout in with that hike! Despite some soreness from the trek, everyone’s spirits were incredibly high as celebrations continued for the new Mr. and Mrs.
