Love is in the air! Courtney and Hunter just celebrated their first anniversary as husband and wife, so I want to look back and share some of my favorite photos from their small town chapel wedding. Courtney and Hunter tied the knot back in July of 2021, and their wedding was such a fun and beautiful celebration!
Courtney and Hunter have a super sweet love story, as they actually met way back in a Sunday School class taught by Hunter’s parents. They were immediately smitten, and Hunter even proposed with a ring from the same jeweler his dad used to propose to his mom! For their big day, they were married at a small chapel in Baldwin County Bicentennial Park. This spot is a beautiful hidden gem, and I love it so much I even featured it in my guide to 7 Beautiful Wedding Venues in Baldwin County, Alabama!
Courtney was a vision in her Allure Bridals dress from Bridal Boutique, and Vida Williams did a fantastic job with her hair and makeup. The bridesmaid dresses from David’s Bridal and the groomsmen suits from Men’s Wearhouse were the perfect complement to the bride and groom. All of the gorgeous florals for the day were provided by Rouses Markets.
The reception was held at TimberCreek Community Center, where everyone got to enjoy delicious barbecue and gumbo that was actually catered by Hunter’s family! His family is originally from Louisiana, and they wanted to pay homage to their roots, which I absolutely loved. I also adored their cake, which was prepared by Pollman’s Bake Shops, and the custom Tabasco party favors, which were also a nod to that Louisiana heritage.
To top it all off, Courtney and Hunter had one of the most unique wedding send-offs I’ve ever seen! They had the clever idea to use fire extinguishers to create a smoky effect as their loved ones wished them off. Don’t worry – the extinguishers were pointed at the ground and everyone kept a safe distance! It was a super unique way to add some drama to their send-off photos, and everyone absolutely loved it.
Courtney and Hunter’s wedding was a beautiful reflection of their lifelong love for each other. Despite their wedding day being pretty hot and humid (classic Alabama!), seeing the way they looked at each other made it all worth it. I had so much fun photographing their special day, and I am wishing them a huge congratulations on celebrating their first wedding anniversary!
