The De Leon Family | Orange Beach Family Session | Alabama Family Photographer

When Alex reached out about scheduling an Orange Beach Family Session with all 17 members of her husband’s family, I was immediately game! I first met Alex when I photographed her side of the family a few years back, and I also shot her sister’s Anniversary Session at her home in Dallas a couple of years ago!

Photographing large groups of people can be chaotic, especially when there are little ones to wrangle, but honestly, these sessions are so much fun for me. Alex let me know this would be the first time the entire De Leon family would be photographed together, and I was honored they chose me to capture their special beach vacation memories.

When we met for our golden hour beach session, I immediately fell in love with the De Leon family. They’re friendly and welcoming, full of energy, not afraid to poke fun at each other, and clearly share tons of love. I also come from a big family, so I know how special and rare it is to get everyone together. 

Some of my favorite moments were watching all the cousins, who range from 1 to 13, playing and having fun in the waves. Also, can we take a moment to acknowledge how stunning Melinda (the matriarch of the family in the green dress) is? The De Leon genetics are on point, and I hope to look half as good as her when I’m a grandmother!
