One of the coolest things about being a photographer is getting to work with fellow creatives, like the lovely folks over at the University of South Alabama's Department of Music. Dr. Kip Franklin, the University's Associate Professor of Clarinet, reached out after hearing about my work through a coworker, Arie. You might recognize Arie from the blog, as I photographed his Mobile Bay wedding and wife's maternity session!
Fun fact: I used to play clarinet in high school, so I completely nerded out at the chance to revisit my musical roots. Over the course of two months, I attended weekly events at the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center to capture new images for the University's promotional and marketing materials. This is one of the most unique opportunities I've had throughout my career, and I loved every minute.
From band and choir practice to opera dress rehearsals, I got a behind-the-scenes look at all the work that the Department of Music puts into its programs and performances. Watching the University of South Alabama students diligently train to improve their musical talents was so inspiring, and you can tell they care deeply about studying and honing their skills.
HUGE thanks to the University of South Alabama, Dr. Franklin, and the entire Department of Music for the opportunity to capture these marketing photos and work on this incredibly fun project!
Check out more of my shots on the University's website!
